Wolmae is an artistic name of Olesya Kaso-Fedynyshyn. She began her dancing at the age of 4 with folk and classical dances. Her guides in the world of dance from this period are Istvan Kustan and Olexander Khizhun. As a teenager she performed show dance in a local dance crew guided by Yevhen Brezhynsky. At this age Wolmae created her first choreographies as well.
Wolmae’s credo is One that dances from the heart, dances right!!
Wolmae got acquainted with oriental dance in 2001 during her stay in Germany. From the first moment she began eagerly absorbing the variety of the oriental music, dance and culture in general. Wolmae’s specific dance style is not a classical belly dance. It is an oriental dance which includes elements both from Middle East and Central Asia. One may call it: modern oriental dance show.
As an artist Wolmae is influenced by such prominent artists as Yulduz Usmanova from Uzbekistan, Omar Faruk Tekbilek from Turkey, Najwa Karam from Lebanon and certainly by the great Persian poets Omar Khayyam and Rumi.
Wolmae took private and master classes from the prominent professionals of the art of belly dancing, like: Hassaan Saber, Ahmed Refaat, Nour, Lubna Emam, Mahmoud Reda (the founding father of the academic Arabian folklore), Ahmed Fekry, Ousama Emam and Tito.
Wolmae’s dance is full of passion and strength. She dances a masculine style with a tender female touch.
Besides music the dance and the costume are integral parts of a complete scenic appearance. One should acknowledge that both the choreography and the design of Wolmae’s dress are mainly the artist’s own creations.
Wolmae staged in numerous performances in Ukraine, Hungary, Germany, Romania, South Korea and Egypt.
